Portrayals of a city, a collection of different facets of our exterior public environment – images generally familiar to us all. No, no. In fact, these photographs are composed of elements from within the four walls of one room at home.
These two spheres – inside and outside – contrast strongly.
In this series I use the unique capabilities of photography to simultaneously present a given reality and an alternative, imaginary reality – creating a credible illusion. The question is then much less whether we can trust our perception, but rather: What is more real to us, the illusion we perceive or objective reality?
